Finding Hidden Sugar

“Do you eat a sugar-free diet? You may think so, but let’s set the record straight: It’s almost impossible. Just about every food contains some amount of sugar, and unless you subsist on just water and meat, you are eating it!”… keep reading

Tips for Sugar-free Cooking and Eating – PassionateAboutFood.NET

“Whatever your reasons to reduce sugar, it can be a real trial to lessen its impact in your meals and snacks. Just imagine if you had to empty your cupboards and never buy chocolates. Sounds impossible? Well, it is possible, especially for me – I never had that ’sweet tooth’. But even if you love sweets, there are ways to reduce your daily intake.

As you know, sugar and fat are against you when it comes to staying trim. Debate still rages over whether sugar causes behavioral changes in children. Generations have been warned that sugars in the mouth cause dental decay.

So how do you cut back on sugar intake without causing a full-blown rebellion? The trick is – It has to be done gradually”.…. keep reading

Pocket Guide to IF Ratings

Pocket Guide to IF Ratings - if you want to know which foods are rated the best and worst for inflammation this little guide is a good start!  I have this posted on my fridge to remind me to eat things on the “best” lists and avoid the “worst” lists.  As I noted in a previous post, for me, the WORST thing i can eat is sugar!  That’s on my “avoid” list although I’m not doing very well at avoiding it lately!

Vegan diet may ease arthritis, study finds | Science | The Guardian

“Rheumatoid arthritis patients may be able to improve their symptoms by switching to a vegan and gluten-free diet, a study in Sweden has found.”

,

I was a faithful vegan for over a year and I didn’t find it helped completely but it certainly did help!! My flare ups were decreased and I had more energy. As far as diets go though, the best thing I’ve found for myself is avoiding sugar! Sugar and my body do not mix! I LOVE sugar and everything with sugar but it certainly increases my pain and fatigue so I try to avoid it as much as possible. I also find drinking a lot of tea (i drink green tea mostly) helps as well.
